Here comes Egypt

I am obsessed with Egypt. I dream about mysterious pharaohs and  queens. I keep on staring at some Egyptian painting at some art show for hours. Oh, these paintings tell me so many stories. I mean, I can not even begin to explain, how mesmerizing this culture is. I am so deeply fascinated that I sometime feel that thousands years and several births ago, I was an Egyptian. I get goose bumps at this thought. Its enthralling.

Well, if I start to write about how I feel, I may continue for ever. But, this post is not about that. This post is about my first ever attempt at "Papyrus Painting". Its my tribute to this great art. Well, it did not turn up quite as I would have liked, but anyways - my first ever Papyrus Painting would always be very close to my heart.

I have used a hand made paper < the rough surface> and tried to give it a papyrus look by a light coating of burnt sienna and some patches of grey. Coating of silver crayon on the  accessories of the man and the horse is used to bring a somewhat glittery look.
