I have joined a workshop to learn candle making! woo hoo ! This is real fun. Then I made dad to buy the all the necessary stuffs and transferred my knowledge to mom. Then one evening the three of us ganged up and tried our hands on candle making for the first time and below is the result.
Materials Used : Transparent glass, candle wick, rangoli colors, decorative items and wax gel.
Procedure : Pretty simple, fix the wick into the empty glass with a quick fix glue, tie in with an ice-cream stick or spoon to keep it straight, fill in colors of your choice layer by layer, put in some decorative items, hit the wax gel on an aluminium container until it turns into a transparent liquid - and pour it into the glass - set it aside for overnight and the candles are ready! Cut off the extra wick so that the candle does not flicker when lit.
Learning : The wax gel was probably over heated - hence it formed a foggy layer. Also, the decorative items - beads, pearls, funny shapes - were too small for the purpose, next time we should buy according to the glass size.
Stay tuned for more variety of candles.
Now the sad part - I lit my first candle in the memory of my school junior, my namesake, who lost her life due to post delivery complications. May her soul rest in peace. May she protect her angel baby from wherever she is. Amen!
