When I was a small child, mom used to recite this poem to me during bed time. Listening to her, I would wander in the land of imagination and finally fall asleep. Though I did not understand the poem much, the joy of getting mom close to me after a long day and the rhythm of her recitation used to create a magic in my tender mind.
This poem in that way is my favorite lullaby and my introduction to Rabindranath. So here's a tribute to those innocent childhood days -
"Kumor parar gorur gari, Bojhai kora kolshi hari,
Gari chalay bongshi bodon, Songe je jaay bhagne Modon."
While drawing this, I had a confusion - this nephew lad, who is going along - is he riding on the cart or walking beside? I asked mom. Without hesitation she replied, "Of course riding on the cart - no uncle can be so cruel that he will make a little boy walk and himself ride on the cart".
:) I wish, one day I will be matured enough to always think with this kindness and simplicity.
Simple and beautiful. So confident pen stroke! You are finishing one painting in one day rather in few hours!! Great.
ReplyDeleteThank you Didi ! That's the best benefit of line drawing - no more waiting for weekends, I can work on it after an usual working day. It is very refreshing!
