Sailing in the storm

When I had started learning Rabindra Sangeet, I did not have my harmonium - I would use didi's when practicing. During such time, I started to lose my baby teeth and of course was sounding very funny.

Didibhai (maternal granny) visited us when I had just learned two or three songs, this one being the last one I was learning. Unfazed of my lost teeth I very proudly sang this song in front of her and she very affectionately gifted me a harmonium! My first harmonium - rather my only harmonium!

So here's another one to fond childhood memories

খরবায়ু বয় বেগে, চারি দিক ছায় মেঘে, ওগো নেয়ে, নাওখানি বাইয়ো।

I completed it in less than a hour. Had a busy evening but just did not want to lose the idea.

Reaction on the photo : Mom is quite suspicious that how can a girl who shamelessly forgets yesterday's incidents, remember such old episode so vividly! Dad thinks he still likes my colorful paintings more. Bro is sure that I have been bitten by some painting bug so that I am sitting with the copy almost everyday!

  3. Your sense of proportions are so good. I just love the shadings you put to mark the water, specially below the boat.
Very nice border. Do carry on with this phase of line drawing for some more time, really liking this.
